Bright Green Youth gathers young people from around the world to participate in a dialogue and generate solutions for climate changes. It is important that these young people are introduced to the opinions of young people from other parts of the world and that together, they form a global opinion on global issues.

Long before Denmark hosts the United Nation’s Climate Change Conference, COP15 in December 2009, young people from all over the world will be thinking about the environment, technology, energy, responsibility and awareness at the Climate Change Conference for Youth in August. The initiative - called Bright Green Youth – is organized by Danfoss Universe and will take place in Sønderborg with forests, fields and seaside as background settings. Our goal is to ensure that the debate about the environment and climate is a down to earth rather than seemingly distant, confusing and theoretical. Bright Green Youth focuses on how all young people can make a difference and how change must start with each and every one of us. I have no doubt that Bright Green Youth will create a new generation of global young people, who will take responsibility for the planet and deliver concrete suggestions and demands to the government leaders of the world, who must make decisions in December that will have great impact upon the future climate of this planet. This is why I support Bright Green Youth.

There is a growing movement of young people from all over the world who are taking action on climate change. Through a wide range of initiatives, from local projects in their schools and communities to international-level policy advocacy, they are making essential contributions to the society-wide effort to resolve the climate crisis. Bright Green Youth will add to this growing movement. It will bring together the amazing energy and ideas of hundreds of inspiring young people from around the world. Together, participants will explore and discover the solutions to climate change, and they will build the skills and networks to move their ideas to actions. Undoubtedly, it will be a great experience everyone involved. But, importantly, it will help empower an entire generation of active young citizens whose collective efforts will help drive the changes that we are all working toward.
