The idea

August 8th-11th 2009. Four days in Sønderborg. 500 of the world’s most talented, engaged and creative youths.
Infinite potential for ambitious thinking. Bright Green Youth pools the creative powers and diverse experiences of visionary youths to produce more ambitious, practical solutions.

Creating innovative climate solutions – not political statements.

Fast-paced and dynamic problem solving

Bright Green Youth is sharply focused on concrete, practical, workable solutions. Participants will meet leading scholars for inspiration. Their thinking and modes of cooperation will be constantly challenged by experts in innovation, allowing for new perspectives and the generation of otherwise improbable ideas.

The basic idea is open source thinking: Allowing and stimulating the creative powers of 500 bright young minds to work in concert.

It will be up to the participants to choose the themes and ideas to be developed in Sønderborg – the generation and development of ideas will begin months before, here on www.brightgreenyouth.org.

Bright Green Youth differs from other arrangements that will take place in Denmark in connection with COP15 in Copenhagen by:

1) our learning philosophy; starting point in everyone’s everyday life, sharing information and finally, generating new ideas.
2) the process; the participants will be offered different ways to communicate through pictures, sound, drawings, other media, etc.
3) the outcome; the camp will start a process that will continue after August 2009 and the outcome will be accessible for COP15.
